Damn… I hurt real bad!
Waking up this morning was difficult. My arms ache, my hands are sore and the skin feels tight on my palms… why?
Last night I went bouldering
What is bouldering? Well bouldering is essentially rock climbing without rope. Its generally low level climbing that not only goes up, but horizontal as well! If you’ve ever done rock climbing before I can already hear you saying “That’s easy… no problem” well you’re wrong, it’s much harder and here is why.
- Few hand/foot holes and pads – reaching out for the few grips you have can be very difficult, especially if it’s going over a large overhang.
- Specific routes to follow – If you’ve ever been climbing at an activity centre there are no set paths, your aim is the top. With bouldering there are set routes (in indoor bouldering at least). Of course you can freestyle and use any pad but this is way more challenging.
- No rope = more effort on you – Having a rope allows you to take easy breaks if you need to while on the wall, you can just lean back into it. In Bouldering, there is no rope. YOU are responsible for staying on the wall so you have to make sure you can make every move. This also means there are no resting points
- No easy way down – If you have a rope you can abseil down, with no rope you have to climb. This is tricky in its self as going down is not as easy as it sounds. Of course you could just drop but where is the challenge in that?
So there you have it, some solid reasons and explanations as to why I hurt so much today. I’m planning on making it a regular thing so if anyone is interested in giving it a go feel free to get in contact : )
… My fingers hurt while typing all of this so I will leave it at that.
Oh btw the new “Blonde Rage” page is up! You can find it here!

Lets get back into this shall we?
So what have I done in 2012 so far?………. not much! And I’ve certainly been neglecting my blog, so lets change that shall we?
The end of 2012 is supposed to be the end of the world according to the Mayan calendar. Now, I don’t believe in apocalyptic theories and the whole “the end is neigh” stuff that gets floated about by various crazy people in high places (see Harold Camping) and they are ALWAYS wrong… but it’s a great excuse to party and get crazy the night before!
2012 for me will be the year filled with fun, activities and when possible (well I’m not going out alone) getting out to the pub/bar/club… whatever, just getting OUT! Cause life is for living, not for sleeping!
So as far as the blog is concerned what can be expected to happen this coming year? Well let me tell you!
- I shall try to return to my one post/page a day (min every 2 days)
- Open a new “Blonde Rage” section for my ranting needs!
- Be as creative as I was in the start, pumping out little slices of fried gold
- And be more fun! I want comments and suggestions from you all!
So that’s that!
I hope you all continue to read my blog in 2012 and help me pass the time for me and for you.
Laters y’all!
Happy New Year!!!
- People deep down want to help others in times of need, even the selfish ones. - World Disasters
- With enough people power society can accomplish the impossible - Arab spring, Occupy Movement
- Society is broken, its has deep divides. Equality and real fairness needs to be at the centre of all we do - London Riots
- You can not run from the things you have done forever. You can not escape your past - Osama Bin Laden
- A wedding or big event is a great distraction from hard times - The Royal Wedding
- People in this country are no where near being Politically aware and are easily fooled by politicians and the media - The Con-Dem Austerity
And most importantly
- Do not give up on the things you love, you should do all you can to keep hold of them for as long as you can and don’t let go - Life
Christmas break
I am sure you all have noticed but I have taken a break from my blog for the Christmas period, this break will most likely extend till the New Year.
I will however be posting before Jan 1st my “Closing chapter 2011 – what i have learnt” post which is currently in development.
If I do not see you all or speak to you before the end of the Hols…
I wish you all a very sweet Christmas and an awesome New year!!!
Much Love to you all!!
Shoulder Pork hAM!!
SPAM!!!!!
It is the most annoying thing on the internet!!!!!!! (next to unwanted pop-ups and Adverts before videos!!)
I ‘ve been logging into my WordPress recently and i have had sooo many SPAM comments!!
They all seem to gravitate to my “This is a public Service announcement” post. I have had well over 40+ spam messages in the last week for this post alone!!
All i can say is thank you WordPress for having a auto SPAM filter otherwise my whole blog would be filled with SPAM!!!
Maybe i need to re-word my post titles… or track down those who send this crap to me and kill them… just a thought!
A sense of relief…
Following one of my more depressing posts and some advice given to me as a result I decided to be honest and open to someone about a particular problem (yes I am being vague!! Deal with it!)
After sending a rather long email and feeling really nervous throughout the day about the response I might get, I finally received a call in the evening.
…My email was read and, I think, well received. We spoke for some time about the contents and the background behind it coming to a mild conclusion and a one sided promise for the future… it was much more than I could ask for
I won’t go into details because frankly it’s none of your business unless I want to tell you. I just want you all to know that after speaking about what was on my mind and has been eating me up for some time I feel a sense of relief… even if not much has changed in the grand scheme of things
I honestly now believe that if you want to say or do something, as long as it is truthful and genuine, you should go ahead and say/do it.
Yes it will be nerve-wrecking
Yes you will think you have ruined the situation
Yes you will think you have lost something for good
BUT
Things will work out when genuine honesty is at the core!
Good luck!
Is too much free time a bad thing?
Who here gets bored if they’ve gone through a whole day without doing anything?
I DOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
I used to be able to spend an evening/ entire day/ weeks doing seet F-all!
Maybe the students here have rubbed off on me, the hours they work are insane, yet they always seem to be able to do more.
Maybe its from when i was living with Babs and seeing her do countless all-nighters and cool things she learnt, while i had all the time in the world and… did…not much with it!
Maybe I am actually a work-a-holic becasue sometimes i would rather still be at the Halls than elsewhere.
…Maybe i’m just bored of being bored…
I need to change this somehow, i need to develop some hobbies, go out more or take up a course… anything to fill up my extra time otherise i think that this boredom will only help move me quicker to that white padded room i’ve got reserved for myself.
Dont get me wrong this blog has helped out somewhat to be fair… I think its safe to say that i’m addicted because when i dont post for that dayi get the shakes!… no seriously! so i need something else to jam into my jar of time.
BUT I NEED MORE!!!!!!
everyone on the internet thinks they have a great idea so i’m asking for yours
WHAT CAN I DO!!??
I NEED IDEAS PEOPLE!!!!!!!!
War!!
This is dedicated to someone that i am currently at war with….(A friendly one though)
This un-named, un-marked war is set to be a brutal one…
But one thing is certain…… I WILL WIN
The dreaded Fire Alarm test
Normally loud noises are fun!! but not on a friday morning…
Yes today is the day I have to (every week) test the alarms at 11:00 and un-intentionally wake up a (possibly) over 100 students!!
It’s not my intention to be evil, its just the rules imposed on me, if i could change it, I would change it to…. 15:00 on saturday, most people would be out or (hepefully) awake by then!
I wont lie… when i first started this job i did find the tests fun, i mean who doens’t like setting off the fire alarm and runnig around like a loon only then to shout down a radio for all to hear?… anyone?… nope, see what i mean?
But now that i know people here and after living here for 3 year (but not anymore) I feel soooooooo baaaaaaad doing it every…single…friday.
So forgive me everyone, but your 11:00 wake up call is on its way soon!
Let me cheer you up!!
So over the weekend I had a friend who was in need of cheering up, he recently heard some really bad news and as a result more bad things happened to him… not a good place to be in at this time of year (or at any tbh)…
After the bad things happened we decided to go into Bromley to get away from things and try to enjoy the day! As you do…
I realise now that I after that day, I may…not…be the best person to cheer you up when you’re down considering the following:
- I don’t take life too seriously
- I’m a bit of a prankster
- I’ll dare you to do things you shouldn’t
On the other hand I can be the best person to help cheer you up because:
- I don’t take life too seriously (yes it’s a good thing as well)
- I’m a good listener
- I do give out good advice and I am fun to be around (well…….sometimes
)
That day was one of those days where I wasn’t very good…
We were walking around and decided to get something to eat, so I recommended the “Bridge Farm” hot dog stand. We paid for our hotdogs and went to put some sauce on them… my friend put hot sauce AND Colman’s mustard (and lots of it!!) on his. We made out way to the park munching on our sausages (LOL) and started to suffer from the mustard! I have NEVER seen this guy not finish his food, he was coughing and spluttering and physically felt sick… not a good start to cheering him up
Anyways, later that day we made our “merry” way home by train…
I decided to prank my friend and came up with a fiendish plan to close the train door as he was getting off… evil I know but funny in my head.
So he’s pressed the button to open the door… then a split second later I pressed the button to close it, thinking that he would react and block the door… He didn’t!!
As he stepped out with the door closing the door (quite perfectly!) closed right on his neck trapping his head and only his head on the outside of the train!!!… Time stood still… it seemed like he didn’t move for ages and made no attempt to get out so I hammered the open door button to free him!
Despite him possibly being in pain or shock, I literally creased up with laughter on the platform and could not stop laughing till we got home… I’m still laughing now as I write this, 2 days after it happened. Luckily, he saw the funny side of it and so far hasn’t tried to get revenge!!
Ha ha ha… sigh… so all in all, he forgot about his woes… they were replaced by wanting to throw up and a new fear to train doors!!!
ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!
